Block a sender / report junk

Every inbound fax and voicemail gets a baseline junk read automatically, but detection is not the same as action. When something is clearly spam, report it and block the sender so future items from that number are diverted.

  • Detection (automatic): a junk score on every inbound item, so likely spam is flagged for review. Junk is a bucket a person can audit, never a silent drop.
  • Action (this guide): you mark an item as junk and block its sender number. The inbound path then consults the block list.
  1. Open the offending fax or voicemail.
  2. Choose Report junk / block sender.
  3. That caller’s number goes on the block list.

The block list keys on the caller number, not the channel. So blocking a number you got a junk voicemail from also diverts that number’s faxes, and the reverse. One action covers both.

A blocked or junk item is bucketed, not destroyed. That keeps the audit trail complete and lets a person undo a wrong call. The decisions you make here are also the raw material for future sender-reputation scoring.
